SEVERANCE NAMED RTC EXCEPTIONAL EMPLOYEE
Mary Severance, RTC Accountant Coordinator, is the recipient of the RTC
Exceptional Employee
Award
for the last quarter of 2014.
RTC Financial Manager David Aamot says, “Mary is the go-to person for many things. She is
very knowledgeable on our accounting software and is great at sharing information and
teaching others about the software. She is a hard worker and is always willing to dive into
new projects even if they are outside her usual scope of work. She takes ownership of the
project and sees it through until the end.”
Mary was hired in August 2002 as a General Clerk to help customers sign up for service, take
trouble calls, and dispatch techs. Mary’s General Clerk job duties later changed to accounting-
based projects and in January 2005, Mary was promoted to Accountant. In April 2007, Mary
was promoted to Accountant Lead and in January 2011, was promoted to Accountant
Coordinator. Mary coordinates many of the daily accounting department functions and is the
lead employee on various accounting projects. She is also the System Administrator for RTC’s
billing and accounting software.
Mary serves on the Parshall Ambulance Board. She and her husband Brian farm and ranch
north of Parshall. Their daughter Carissa is studying accounting at Bismarck State College and
their son Tyler is studying to be an electrician at North Dakota State College of Science.
The
Exceptional Employee Award
was developed to recognize RTC employees who go above
and beyond the call of duty. Nominations are made by fellow employees and it is awarded to
a deserving RTC employee quarterly.
