SPRING 2014
Cenex includes the C-Store convenience store, and is
a source for gas, fishing supplies, tires, and even minor
auto repairs:
Cenex C-Store offers coffee, soda, snacks, and
souvenirs, and includes Hot Stuff Pizza, Smash
Hit Subs, and Cinnamon Street Rolls.
Cenex Bait & Tackle, located inside Cenex C-Store,
carries a selection of parts, including nuts and bolts,
tools, and gas hoses, as well as bait, leeches, tackle,
and other sporting goods.
The tire center stocks around 600 tires at all times
and can also fix bicycle tires, construction equipment
tires, and many types in between. Staff can even
go to customers when needed, using an on-the-
farm tire truck.
Cenexmechanics can performminor repairs onwater
pumps, starters, alternators, shocks, exhaust systems,
and axles.
RTC Provides the Right Services
The business has been a customer of RTC since 1996.
Schlichting says, “We like that we can deal with a local
business. They buy fromus, too.”He explains that the reasons
for this long-term relationship include an appreciation
for RTC’s community participation and the fact that
RTC has all the services Cenex needs. Those include
phone service, credit card machines, internet, and TV.
Phone service is key, says Schlichting, “because that’s
how most customers contact the business.” Cenex
upgraded its phone system a few years ago and now
leases their phones; if there’s ever a problem, RTC just
replaces them. A fast internet connection is also important
to Cenex because it’s needed for the credit card machines
and the customers who use the Wi-Fi. Customers who
have RTC’s internet service at home can get Wi-Fi for
free at Cenex, while others pay a small fee to get onto
the network.

Cenex of Garrison
Situated near farms as well as popular recreation destinations, Cenex of Garrison gets a wide
variety of customers. Paul Schlichting, General Manager, says, “Until recently, our typical
customers have been farmers, but now we’re getting more people from urban areas, headed
out for recreation. They can get bait and tackle, get their boat oiled, and get stocked up with
everything they need.”
