The

RTC held their 64th Annual Meeting

on Thursday, June 18 at the Parshall

High School. Approximately 625

people attended the event.

The meal was catered by Kyle’s Katering

of Garrison. The meeting began with

RTC employees Carl Brunsell and Daryl Johnson presenting the colors and

Hunter Andes of Plaza providing the drum roll. Yuki Johnson of Parshall sang

the National Anthem and Pastor Alan Hathaway of the Garrison Church of

God gave the invocation.

The election of Directors was held during the meeting. Glenn Schreiner was

elected to District 5 (Douglas, Makoti, Max, Roseglen, Ryder) by unanimous

ballot. Jared Eagle and Duane Estvold were candidates for District 2A (Mandaree,

New Town, Ross). Jared Eagle was elected by paper ballot.

President Jeanette Hoff, CEO/General Manager Shane Hart and Financial

Manager David Aamot provided reports. RTC’s 2015 scholarship winners were

recognized. Financial Manager Aamot and Utility Technician Carl Brunsell

received awards for their 25 years of service to RTC. Retirees were presented

with plaques including Accounting Assistant Nancy Vorwerk (34 years of service).

CEO/General Manager Royce Aslakson (28 years of service), Administrative

Assistant Denese Westgard (27 years of service), District 5 Director Hilman

Anderson (27 years of service) and District 2A Director Dennis Heer (nine

years of service). Retiring CEO/General Manager Aslakson gave a farewell

speech after his eight grandchildren surprised him by singing a few songs.

Prizes were given away throughout the meeting with grand prizes drawn for at

the end of the meeting. Natasha Roberts of the Max exchange won the Kindle

Fire, Sandra Rue of the Plaza exchange won a year of free local phone service

and Greg Christianson of the Spencer exchange won the flat screen TV.
