UNITED PRAIRIE
COOPERATIVE
CONNECTS WITH LOCAL
CUSTOMERS ON RTC TV
United Prairie Cooperative, estab-
lished in 1929, provides solutions
for local farmers, businesses, and
individuals with a variety of pro-
ducts and services, including energy/
heating, ag/hardware, a tire service
center, and two convenience stores.
In October 2013, General Manager
John A. Reese had an opportunity
to talk with an RTC representative
about TV advertising; the co-op
has been a TV advertiser ever since.
Reese says, “TV ads allow us to pro-
mote the co-op within the local
community and to support another
local company, RTC.”
Reese explains that their TV ads
enable customers and potential
customers to get a better under-
standing of what the co-op has to
offer. He says, “The video compo-
nent adds to what people already
know from our print and radio ads.”
Referring to the Bakken oil boom,
he adds, “We also have the oppor-
tunity to send the message that as
a long-standing company, we will
support the community through
any changes it might undergo.”
Share your message with customers who shop in your area

This list represents the top 10 most-watched
networks in our service area. Shannon
Stafslien, Ad Sales Rep at RTC, says, “The
biggest benefits of TV advertising are that
it reaches locals—the people who shop
in our customers’ towns—and that it
presents a favorable impression, even for
smaller businesses.”
Another benefit to advertising on RTC
TV is the reasonable price. Stafslien notes,
“Customers tend to think TV advertising
will be expensive, but it’s actually afford-
able. We can customize a TV advertising
schedule to fit any budget. Customers
who aren’t particular about the time or
the show their ad appears on pay less. We
also have special rates for community
event announcements and PSAs, and we
offer bonus spots for customers who spend
above a certain amount.”
